| Objective To discuss the feasibility and values of enhanced MRI using3D-STIRSPACE sequence in displaying postganglionic nerve in brachial plexus.Methods20Volunteers and10patients suffered from brachial plexus diseasesunderwent MRI scanning using T2WI-STIR, unenhanced and enhanced3D-STIRSPACE sequences, respectively. The display rate of brachial plexus post ganglionic, contrast noise ratio(CNR) between nerve and muscle, artifacts of images on the threesequences were evaluated. The signs of the normal brachial plexus and its lesions inthe enhanced MRI scanning using3D-STIR SPACE sequence were observed. Results The display rates of supra-clavicular and subclavicular segment ofbrachial plexus post ganglionic on T2WI-STIR,unenhanced and enhanced3D-STIRSPACE were80%,80%,85%and55%,60%,85%.The CNR of three sequences were34.05±11.48ã€34.10±11.30ã€44.59±11.26. The CNR of brachial plexus post ganglionicand the display rate of subclavicular segment of brachial plexus on enhanced3D-STIR SPACE were higher than the other two sequences. Enhanced scan cansignificantly improve the background suppression effect, reduce the artifacts, andshows the brachial plexus and its lesions more clearly. Conclusion The enhanced3D-STIR SPACE sequence can clearly display thebrachial plexus and its lesions, contribute a lot to the diagnosis and treatment inbrachial plexus lesions. |
