With the development of times and the improvement of people’s lives, health has become the topic of greatest concern of people’s daily life. At present, heart disease showed an upward trend because of the increase of China’s aging population and the lifestyle’s change and work pressure’s increasing of young people. However, nearly a third of deaths due to heart disease each year in the world and heart disease has become the first cause of human death. Therefore, how to prevent and treat heart disease is the hot research area today and the importance of ECG is not self-evident.With the development of modern technology, ECG terminal gradually becomes small and intelligent. Portable ECG terminal is increasingly favored by heart patients, because it is not subject to the restrictions of time and place. This dissertation designed an embedded ECG monitoring system, whose hardware platform is based on the ARM9microprocessor core. In this system, the embedded operating system customization and transplantation has been completed and ECG embedded application has been developed. The system is based on a design development board, whose control core is embedded processor S3C2440A. GPRS, AD converter and other modules are expanded, in addition to the development board resources, including the RS232serial port, USB port, SD card storage module, and then embedded ECG monitoring system hardware platform is built up. Customized embedded operating system Windows CE6.0is transplanted to the terminal based on the hardware platform. And the relevant drivers are added and modified to achieve efficient use of hardware resources. Then, ECG application is developed, based on the customized operating system. By means of Visual Studio2005, this system implements many functions, including real-time ECG data acquisition, display, storage, real-time data processing, automatic analysis, exception alerts, GPRS wireless transmission and so on. using multi-threading technology. The embedded ECG monitoring system developed in this project can achieve real-time effective care for patients by using ECG electrodes to collect real-time ECG data. This system has some features such as friendly interface, simple operation, good scalability, and accurate and safe monitoring. And it can be widely used in family, community hospitals and mobile medical stations and other places. The research of this topic will make a meaningful attempt for the development of remote ECG monitoring system towards intelligent terminals and wireless ECG data transmission.
