Objective To evaluate the short-term (9months) effect and theimprovement of left ventricular function of acute coronarysyndrome(ACS) patients after the percutaneous coronaryintervention(PCI).Methods33myocardial infarction patients (group MI)with leftventricular dysfunction were taken the percutaneous coronaryinterventions(PCI).To estimate and compare the index of the left ventricleend diastolic volume(EDV)、stroke volume(SV)、left ventricularejection fraction(EF)、fractional shortening of left ventricular short-axis(FS)、end diastolic dimension of ventricle(LVDd)、end systolicdimension of ventricle(LVDs)、cardiac outpu(tCO)cardiac outpu(tCO)before coronary angiography(CAG), the33patients were analyzed by the color Doppler echocardiogram before and9months after the PCI;35unstable angina patients (group UA) were also taken the percutaneouscoronary intervention(PCI). To get the index, the35patients wereanalyzed by the color Doppler echocardiogram before and9months afterthe PCI too. To estimate the improvement of the two groups, the changeof index of the two groups before and after the PCI operation wascompared separately.Results9months after PCI left ventrincular systolic function of68patients improved,LVDd and EDV decreased(P<0.05),EF increased(P<0.05).EF value increased of group MI improved significantly(P<0.01).Conclusions PCI can improve left ventricular systolic function ofACS in short—term, especially AMI patients with left ventriculardysfunction.Echocardiography could be used as an index for evaluationclinical effectiveness.
