Kong Jitan was a famous traditional chinese medicine doctor inTeng in the Qing Dynasty. When he was a child, he received theConfucian education and won the imperial examinations to acquirefame tree. At that time, his grandmother was sufferring refractorydisease and did not recover. So as to heal the illness of hisgrandmother, he turned to learn classical TCM works. With his raretalent he become a outstanding doctor and heal many patients’sickness. By collecting and summaring his clinical experience andacademic thoughts he wrote the kong’s medical records(totally fourvolume eighty four cases) and handed down his later generations. Hisacademic thoughts were very valuable on TCM theory and clinicalpractice, however, this work was not handed widely and only fewpeople know this academic thinking. In order to inherit and develophis thought, we made this research.Using the literature research methods, this paper extract someparagrapghs from the kong’s medical records and analyze theacademic thoughts. There were many similar cases, special cases,misdiagnosis cases and clinical prescription skill in the kong’smedical records writed by Kong Jitan. His medical thought was basedon many classical TCM works and especially pay attention to the use of classical TCM basic theory in clinical practice. His book has veryhigh value of the classic literature and his medical records wasanalyzed by classical basic theory. As for the diagnosis, Kong Jitanseriously emphasize the role of pulse diagnosis, and he put forwardthe view of differential diagnosis of taking pulse. What’s more,he emphasized the importance of the integration of pulse, symptomand patients general feeling in clinical situation. He put forwardmany sensible and well-grounded views on TCM basic theory andprescription. He learned from the ancient but not limit to. Hethought and work with his own feature and developed the TCM theoryin some extent. In a word, he was an excellent representative ofchinese medicine learning and researching.
