| Objective:To explore relationship between the blood pressure circadian rhythm in essential hypertension (EH) and matrix metalloprotei-nase-2(MMP-2).Method:Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) was performed in patients with EH are being treated. According to the result of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, Patients were divided into dipper hypertensives(n=30), non-dipper hypertensives (n=32) and reverse-dipper hypertensives(n=31). The serum levels of MMP-2were measure-d by ELISA in patients with EH.Results:(1) nocturnal blood pressure (BP) and blood pressure load (BPL) in dipperã€non-dipper and reverse-dipper hypertensive group, the association was sigificant (P<0.05).(2) The levels of MMP-2in dipper〠non-dipper and reverse-dipper hypertensive group, the association was srgificant (P<0.05).(3) Respectively analysis showted:nMSBP, nSBP (load) had positive correlation with MMP-2in non-dipper hyprntension group (P=0.005r=0.489, P=0.006r=0.472). nMSBP, nSBP (load) had positive correlation with MMP-2in reverse-dipper hypertension group (P=0.003r=0.522, P=0.049r=0.356).Conclusions:Different types of blood pressure circadian rhythm (dipper, non-dipper, reverse-dipper) in patients with EH, significant changes in the level of serum MMP-2. Changes in the levels of serum MMP-2can predict changes in the blood pressure circadian rhythm (dipper, non-dipper, reverse-dipper) in patients with EH. |
