objective: To compare the effect of breast-conserving therapy and modifiedradical mastectomy for early breast cancer, discuss the suitable treatment for early breastcance.Methods:Retrospective analysis the71cases of breast-conserving surgery and142cases of modified radical mastectomy which was treated in the Second AffiliatedHospital of Xinjiang Medical University and the Xinjiang Tumor Hospital duringJanuary2006to November2009.Compared the operative time, blood loss, postoperativedrainage time, the number of lymph node dissection,2cm away from the cutting edge ofthe flap ischemia, the incidence of upper limb edema, and overall survival,Evaluated thecosmetic results of breast-conserving surgery. Results:Breast-conserving surgery group inoperative time, blood loss, postoperative drainage time,2cm from the cut edge of the flapischemia was significantly better than the situation in the modified radical group. The twogroups in the number of lymph node dissection, the incidence of upper limb edema, andoverall survival, relapse rate and total Administration of the Ministry of distant metastasisrate was no significant difference. The satisfaction cosmetic effects of breast-conservingsurgery was88.7%. Conclusion:Breast-conserving surgery combined with postoperativeradiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy combined treatment with modified radicalmastectomy can get the same treatment. And surgical trauma, faster postoperative recovery,fewer complications, an increase of cosmetic results, improved quality of life.
