In recent years, study about inflammation is very hot, the formation of many diseases have close relationship with it. As the most popular drink, Tea have rich cultural connotations, considerable economic value.Research about anti-inflammation fuction of tea are performed by many people. Pu-erh tea is one kind of black tea, study of its anti-inflammation fuction have been rarely heard.In this research, Using the macrophages, which differentiated from THP-1, as a cell model, we studied the influence of Pu-erh tea extract on the TNF-α secretion from the immunological cell, in different concentration, with or without treatment of100EU/ml LPS. The TNF-α levels in the medium was measured with ELISA.As a result, The Pu-erh tea extract can attenuate the TNF-αsecreted from the macrophage induced by LPS. The effect of250ug/ml Pu-erh tea extract is stronger than the one of125μg/ml. Conclusion The Pu-erh tea extract can inhibit the proinflammatory cytokines releasing from the macrophage. The effect is in a does dependent manner and may not related to the EGCG—the known major effector in the green tea.
