Objective To explore the value of velocity vector imaging (VVI) technology in detecting fetal left ventricular function in pregnant with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. Methods Digital dynamic four-chamber views of54normal fetuses and54fetuses with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus were collected and analyzed offline using velocity vector imaging. The regional tissue velocity, strain, and strain rate of the6segments of left lateral wall and interventricular septum were measured in systole and diastole. To comparative analysis of the differences between the two sets of indicators and And observe the trend of the two sets of indicators with the gestational age. Results (1) Systolic velocity (Vs) and diastolic velocity (Vd) of fetal left ventricular in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and normal Pregnancies were increased with gestational age.(2)The Systolic velocity (Vs) after32weeks and diastolic velocity (Vd) after28weeks and systolic strain (S), systolic strain rate (SRs) and diastolic strain rate (SRd) after24weeks in left ventricle of fetuses with GDM were obviously lower than those of normal Pregnancies(P<0.05).Conclusions The fetal left ventricular function were affected in pregnant with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. The VVI was a useful method which can detect the change of fetal left ventricular function.
