Water is the source of life and is one of the most important material resources forthe existence and development of human beings. The safety and sanitation of drinkingwater is an important index for measuring socioeconomic development and lifequality of human beings, and is also an important factor which influences the life andhealth of human beings.Objective:The objective of this study is to understand the basic sanitation and safetysituation of the drinking water in Jilin City from2009-2011and provide reference formaking scientific and effective monitoring measures of relevant department.Method:As per the methods described in National Standard DRINKING WATERSANITARY STANDARD (GB/T5749-2006), choose54water supply points asmonitoring points in the urban area of Jilin City, and choose36monitoring points inthe rural area of Jilin City. The types of collected water samples include: source water,final water, tap water and secondary water supply of municipal water supply, sourcewater, final water and tap water of self built waterworks, final water and tap water ofwater supply stations in townships and towns, well water of rural area small watersupply and water in water receivers of farmers, and source water, final water and tapwater of rural water supply.As per the requirements described in National Standard DRINKING WATERSTANDARD TEST METHOD (GB/T5750-2006),35indexes of source water andfinal water of municipal drinking water are tested,22indexes of network tap water aretested,35indexes of well water, source water, final water, tap water of rural drinking water are tested, and22indexes of secondary water supply are tested.EXCEL2007is adopted to establish database for implementing analysis on testdata.Results:1.Monitoring result of all individual test items for microorganism index in thedrinking water in Jilin City from2009-2011.The percents of pass of the4items of microorganism index in samples of finalwater and tap water are all higher than80%, except from two items of tap water from2009to2011, including the percent of pass of total coliform group which is78.3%and the percent of pass of total number of colony which is78.3%.The percents of pass of the4items of microorganism index in samples of wellwater and source water are lower, except from the percent of pass of Escherichia coliwhich can reach more than85%, the other percents of pass of items are all lower than80%, except from the total number of colony which is80%of source water from2009to2010, and the percents of pass of thermo-tolerant coliform group which are87.5%and88.9%of source water in2010and2011.Secondary water supply samples of microorganism index in2009and2011,thermo-tolerant coliform group and Escherichia coli were collected samples of1pieceand2pieces, the passing rate was100%. in2011no samples.In2009-2011,microorganism index of the remaining2items passing rate higher than85%.2. Monitoring result of all individual test items for toxicology index in thedrinking water in Jilin City from2009-2011.The percents of pass of the11items of toxicology index in samples of well water,source water, final water and tap water are all higher, and can all reach more than90%,except from the percents of pass of nitrate which are56.1%and67.9%of sample ofwell water in2010and2011, and the percent of pass of nitrate which is76%ofsample of source water in2010.Secondary water supply samples for toxicology index,2009collection sample1piece and2010collection sample2pieces,11items of the passing rate was100%, in 2011no samples.3. Monitoring result of all individual test items for sensory traits and generalchemical index in the drinking water in Jilin City from2009-2011.Among the18items of sensory traits and general chemical index of sample offinal water, except from the percent of pass of chroma which is59.8%in2011, andthe percents of pass of turbidity which are75%,65%and61.8%from2009to2011,the percents of pass of other items are all higher than80%.Among the18items of sensory traits and general chemical index of samples ofsource water, tap water and secondary water supply, except from chroma, turbidityand oxygen consumption, the percents of pass of other15items are all higher than80%.The secondary water supply sample sensory traits and general chemical index,aluminum, copper, zinc, chloride, sulfate, total soluble solid, total hardness, volatilephenol class and anionic synthetic detergent9items,2009collection sample1pieceand2010collection sample2pieces, are100%passing rate,2011without collectionsample.Among the18items of sensory traits and general chemical index of sample ofwell water, except from chroma, turbidity, visible substance, iron, manganese andammonia nitrogen, the percents of pass of other12items are all higher than80%.4. Monitoring result of all individual test items for radioactivity index in thedrinking water in Jilin City from2009-2011.In2009-2011, jilin life drinking water all water detection rate of β totalradioactivity item reached100%;α total radioactivity item in addition to the2009finalwater percent of pass is96.2%beyond, the rest of the water sample type α totalradioactivity item percent of pass are reached100%.Secondary water supply sample radioactivity index,2009collection sample1piece and2010collection sample1piece,2items are100%passing rate,2011without collection sample. Conclusion:1. The percents of pass of radioactivity in the drinking water of Jilin City from2009-2011are close to100%, except from the percent of pass which is99%in2009.It shows that the drinking water in the area has no radioactive source pollution.2. Among the percents of pass of the11items of toxicology index in the drinkingwater of Jilin City from2009to2011, the percents of pass of10items are higher, andonly the percent of pass of nitrate is lower.3. Among the percents of pass of the4items of microorganism index in thedrinking water of Jilin City from2009to2011, the percents of pass of final water, tapwater and secondary water supply are around80%, but the percents of pass of totalcoliform group, thermo-tolerant coliform group and the total number of colony arelower.4. Among the percents of pass of the18items of sensory traits and generalchemical index in the drinking water of Jilin City from2009to2011, except from thepercents of pass of chroma, turbidity and oxygen consumption which are lower, thepercents of pass of other items are all around80%, but the percents of pass of visiblesubstance, iron, manganese and ammonia nitrogen of well water are all lower.
