| Two parts are involved in this dissertation: The studies on thechemical constitu-ents of Pygeum topengii Merr. and The studies on thechemical constituents of Aquilaria sinensis. These two commonly usedChinese herbal medicines were isolated by modern chromatographicmethods including ODS, CC, PTLC, Sephadex LH-20and HPLC, andtwenty-four compounds were gained. The structures of eighteencompounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including NMR,IR and MS.Pygeum topengii Merr., which belongs to the family of Rosaceae, Ithave activity of anticancer, antioncoma, bacterio-stasis, Anti-inflammatory,Antifertility, Antithrombotic and Analgesic. Nineteen compounds were isolated from the Premna serratifolia L and twelve compounds in themwere identified as: Friedelin (1)ã€Lupeol (2)ã€Kaempferol (3)ã€Quercetin (4)ã€Rhamnetin (5)ã€catechin (6)ã€Î²-sitosterol (7)ã€Daucosterol (8)ã€Î±-tocopherol (9)ã€Niga-ichigoside F1(10)ã€tormenticacid(11)ã€cholesterol (12).Incense is also known as Aquilaria sinensis, it belongs to theevergreen tree of the Thymelaeaceae, also called Incense tree andHong daughter. It is mainly distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi,Yunnan, Fujian and other province in China. Aquilaria sinensis is avaluable medicinal plants endemic to China. Resin can provide spiceand medicinal, it has sedative, analgesic, convergence, driving windand other effects. Six compounds were isolated from the Aquilariasinensis and Five compounds were identified as: Mangiferin(13),Genkwanin(14),Wikstroemin(15),Genkwainin-5-O-β-D-primeveroside(16),7,4’-dimethyl-luteolin(17). |
