To retrospectively investigate the prevalence of hepatitis Bvirus(HBV) in autoimmune diseases patients and non-autoimmunediseases patients. Autoimmune diseases include Autoimmunehepatitis(AIH), Primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC), Systemic LupusErythematosus(SLE) and Ulcerative colitis(UC). AIH and PBC arehepatic autoimmune diseases with liver as their target organ.Non-autoimmune diseases patients include patients with inguinalhernia, appendicitis and delivery women. The hepatitis B surfaceantigen(HBsAg) positive rate was significantly lower in autoimmunediseases patients than non-autoimmune diseases patients (2.24VS4.58%, P=0.0014), the same tendency was found in AIH and PBCpopulations (0.83%,1.02%, respectively). Statistical differenceswere found when compared to control group(P=0.006, P=0.004,respectively). The study shows the HBcAb positive rate ofautoimmune patients is significantly higher than that ofnon-autoimmune patients (42.13%vs21.60%, P=7.62E-24). Maybe theautoimmune diseases patients have powerful ability to clear HBV, especially the hepatic autoimmune diseases patients.
