Hyperthermia is a popular method for cancer treatment. It uses microwave to heat thediseased part,and then the tumor cells are killed. Clinical hyperthermia need the accuratetemperature detecting device,in order to help the doctor to use the heat in a rational way.The traditional thermometry (thermal resistance and thermocouple) can’t meet the accuracyrequirements, when they are used in hyperthermia. To solve this problem, the articlestudies on the optical-fiber thermometry which is used in hyperthermia temperature field.The optical-fiber thermometry has strong anti-interference capability, small volume, strongcorrosion resistance, high resolution. It can avoid the EMI essentially, and provide anaccurate measurement result, when it is used in hyperthermia clinic.This article introduces the current situation of the thermometry which is used inHyperthermia. The theory of fluorescence optical-fiber thermometry is discussed in thearticle. Fluorescence thermometer design which is used in Hyperthermia is put forward. Itsolves the problem that thermal resistance and thermocouple cannot get the precisemeasurement result in Hyperthermia.Several fluorescent materials are analyzed and compared in this article and the redfluorescent powder is used as the temperature sensitive material of system, basing on thetemperature in hyperthermia. The red fluorescent powder has good temperature sensitivityand linearity, at room temperature. The Ultraviolet light emitting diode is used as theexcitation light source for the temperature sensitive material. Several fluorescence signalprocessing methods are discussed in the article. The least squares method is used as thefluorescence data processing method and the experiment is done with it. The fluorescentoptical-fiber thermometer hardware design and software flow chart are discussed in thearticle. The fluorescent optical-fiber thermometer is based on STM32f103ZET6. Thesoftware which is use for displaying and storing the measurement data is designed by VB.It is helpful for the system to measure the temperature in hyperthermia.In the end, the fluorescent optical-fiber thermometer is debugged, and someexperiments are done on it. The experimental result shows that the system work steady. Itbasically achieves the desired results.
