| Objective:Via observing the clinical efficacy and the quality of life that Tiao Zang Yun Qi Tang impact on chronic gastritis with "epigastric Pain" or "chest abdominal distension" in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diseases, to explore the feasibility of different diseases in same treatment and thinking model of TCM treatment on western diseases, and to standardize and simplify the messy types and treatments of chronic gastritis at the present stage, in order to play a certain reference on promoting traditional Chinese medicine standardization. Methods:According to the national chronic gastritis consensus conference (Shanghai2006) endoscopic and pathological diagnostic criteria, two groups, each including30cases of chronic gastritis patients with "epigastric pain" or "chest abdominal distension" as the chief complaint, were selected respectively. According to the different diseases in same treatment,60cases of spleen deficiency and qi stagnation in chronic gastritis patients were treated by the self-made Tiao Zang Yun Qi Tang for4weeks. The integral change of symptom and Physical Functioning, Role-Physical, Bodily Pain, and Mental Health in the health survey table (SF-36) before and after treatment between two groups were recorded and investigated. And compared results before and after treatment between two groups, and observed whether there were differences in symptom integral, or adverse drug reactions before and after treatment.Results:(1) Before treatment, two groups of patients with chronic gastritis,"epigastric pain" group and "chest abdominal distension" group, are comparable. After treatment, total symptoms and the main symptoms were significantly improved (p<0.01), which suggested a difference before and after treatment and the treatment was effective. However, there was no marked difference in total symptoms and the main symptoms between the two groups (p>0.05), which indicated the same efficacy.(2) The effective rates in treatment of Tiao Zang Yun Qi Tang on patients with chronic gastritis turned out to be90%of "chest abdominal distension" group, and93.4%of "epigastric pain" group, with no marked difference. The overall quality of life of patients after treatment was significantly improved (p<0.05) in the almost same degree (p>0.05). Both groups were significantly improved (p<0.05) in Physical Functioning, Bodily Pain, and Mental Health, but not improved obviously in Role-Physical (p>0.05).(3) Adverse reactions were not observed in both groups during the treatment. Conclusion:Through treating with TCM different diseases in same treatment, the main symptoms of "Stomach pain" and "stomach bloat" in the patients of chronic gastritis with "epigastric Pain" or "chest abdominal distension" in TCM diseases can be improved significantly without drug adverse reactions. And the quality of life can also be improved. All results above indicate that different diseases in same treatment and thinking model of traditional Chinese medicine treatment on western diseases are feasible in clinical practice. |
