| Objective: The purpose of the study is to understand the diagnosis and treatmentstatus quo of domestic malignant neuropathic pain (MNP) and the influence oftreatment strategies in patients with MNP through the combined use of ID pain andLANSS scale of outpatient or hospitalization of patients screened.Method: A questionnaire was produced to investigate the multiple aspects aboutmalignant neuropathic pain which included general information, pain origins, the paincharacters, the pain intensity, the therapy used a ditseffieacy. We have also asked inwhat degree that patients quality of life in influenced by the disease. This includedwork\homework capability, sleeping, emotion et al. The patient was interviewedaccording to the questionnaire by a trained interview. Eight pain management centersjoined the survey. All patients were randomly divided into control group andexperimental groups, the two groups of patients were given oxycodone, oxycodone andpregabalin for2weeks respectively. Pain degree and quality of life were evaluatedafter treatment.Results: There were135patients with malignant neuropathic pain participated thissurvey. We found that the majority of patients were old people with84.45%of themwere more than40years old. The duration of pain is from1month to6month. Average NRS of pain of all patients is more than six. The quality of life includingsleeping, emotion, work\homework capability, personal activity were affected bymalignant neuropathic pain. Among them, emotion was the one most affected. Morethan90%patients had emotion change at different levels. MNP can be controlled bycomprehensive treatment, which may improve the patients’quality of life.Conclusions: From this small scale survey, we have found that malignantneuropathic pain tends to attack older people, which seriously affect patients’quality oflife, emotion in particular. MNP can be controlled by comprehensive treatment, whichmay improve the patients’ quality of life. In addition, the present study has itslimitations. Larger scale and multi-center clinical trials are needed to confrm thepathogenesis. |
