This article is a substantive research about the medical social work intervening in dying cancer patients to provide hospice services.With the development of social work,the need of medical social work is deepen,and the group of cancer patients also became one of the important clients of medical social workers.Providing hospice services to cancer patients not only has the significance in medicine,but also meets the demand in ethics,and it’s a matter that social work concerns.The medical social work intervening in dying cancer patients cancer to provide hospice services is even a new attempt.Providing human care and professional service to cancer patients and their families also became one of the important services of medical social workers.Interview research,literature research and case study research methods are used in the present study.From micro-level,the article analyzes a case of dying cancer patient,exploring intervention ways and skills of medical social workers,thereby providing hospice care and counselling services to patients and their families,and help them build services resource network.With the breakthrough point of medical social work and hospice care, this article is from the perspective of cancer patients and their families, medical social workers use professional work methods and skills,provide hospice care to patients and their families in order to relieve their psychological,physical and social pressure.Medical social workers carry on the death education to help patients and their families form correct understandings of life and death,build social support network and a healthy humanistic care network of patients and their families-doctors-nurses-the medical social workers-community workers-charitable organizations workers-volunteers,in order to provide humanistic care and emotional support to the patients and their families,accompany patients to pass through their limit life journey,and assist their family members in returning to normal social life.Finally, based on the whole process of case service, the author reflects on the lack of case intervention practice,and lead to the recommendations about building a dying cancer patients service resource network.The author believes that building a dying cancer patients service resource network is a systematic engineering, it needs the cross area and professional cooperation of the doctors, nurses, medical social workers, social work institutions, government, communities, charity organizations, volunteer organizations and so on.So that a perfect hospice service resource network can be built and the services carried out to help dying cancer patients can be expected soon.
