There were10mice in every group. Except the blank control group, the mice of the other groups were irritating by CUMS and keeping single to establish the depressed model and treating the mice by i.g. for five weeks, one time a day.The mice of the blank control group and model group were given the same volume of physiological saline. Observed the change of normal status of mice in the whole procedure; Observed the change of the body weight and food intake at the first〠fourteenthã€twenty-firstã€twenty-eighthã€thirty-fifth day; Observed the liquid consumption at the firstã€twenty-firstã€thirty-fifth day. After the last time to give grug, detected the behavioral changes in the tail suspension test (TST), the forced swimming test (FST), the open-field test and the free-activity test.â‘¡The mechanism of XYSX on the CUMS depressed model of mice:After the behavioral test, obtained the brain to detect the content of5-HTã€ACTH and BDNF by ELISA and the aortic blood to detect the activity of SOD and the content of MDA by the UV-spectrophotometric determination method.Resultsâ‘¡The therapeutic effects of XYSX on the CUMS depressed model of mice:XYSX had a prominent improvement on the normal status of the depressed mice; XYSX could improve the quantity of food intake significantly and increase the body weight faster; XYSX could increase preference of sugared water in depressed mice; XYSX could reduce the time of immovability in FST and TST obviously; XYSX could increase the activity of the depressed mice in the open-field test and the free-activity test, and shorten the time of staying in the central grid.â‘¡The mechanism of XYSX on the CUMS depressed model of mice:XYSX could improve the content of5-HT and BDNF and reduce the content of ACTH in brain; XYSX could significantly improve the activity of SOD and reduce the content of MDA.Conclusion XYSX had a prominent therapeutic effect on CUMS depressed model of mice and could improve symptoms of depressed mice fully and efficiently.
