Yasinjan Sadiq’s two-part novel Madame Executioner, published in2003byXinjiang People’s Press, reached a new peak in Uyghur historical fiction and waswidely discussed among readers, due to its historical accuracy, rich historical content,well-calibrated literary structure, successfully articulated characters, fluent narrationand masterful prose style. Seven years later, he presented to the public the fruit of hismature literary talent and seven years of painstaking research: the multi-parthistorical novel Bahadirname. The novel is systematic and thorough in its structure,as well as in the way it presents the personalities and actions of its characters, periodlanguage, and contemporary ethnic customs and history; in all these, the novel is amodel for those to follow. This paper, taking as its basis the structuralist theory ofliterature, relies on various research techniques, including the textological technique,the comparative technique, the analytical technique, the synthetic technique and thecomparative interview technique, to illuminate such issues as the linguistic featuresof the Bahadirname, namely the role of language in illuminating the historicalbackground of the novel’s characters, the use of ancient speech in the Bahadirname,and the principles and reality of the author’s use of ancient speech in the novel, aswell as the role of stylistics in the Bahadirname.This paper consists of a preface and two main chapters. The preface presentsthe reasons for choosing this theme, the value of the theme, the current state ofresearch on this theme, the content of the present research, and the methods usedherein.The first chapter briefly summarizes the life and creative works of YasinjanSadiq. After this, the author’s work in historical fiction and specifically in theBahadirname is outlined, and the place of this novel in Uyghur fiction writing isanalyzed.The second chapter examines the use of language in the Bahadirname inilluminating the historical background of the novel’s characters, the use of ancientspeech in the novel, and the experience and principles of Yasinjan Sadiq’s use ofancient speech in the Bahadirname, as well as the role of stylistics in the novel.The paper’s conclusion summarizes the literary characteristics of the prosestyle of the Bahadirname.
