Lotus-pattern Study On Unearthed Porcelain

Lotus flower is our nation’s traditional decoration pattern onancient porcelain, with people’s love and deep cultural connotation.Taking unearthed porcelain as reference object and by means ofarcheological typology, this article mainly studies the expression wayand decoration skill of lotus-pattern in different period on porcelain.After study, with increase of productive power, advancement of productiontechnology skill and people’s taste change, the lotus-pattern applicationon ancient porcelain went through two developing periods: before YuanDynasty mainly the art of knife, after Yuan Dynasty and later mainly theart of brush-pen, and there is innovation or development on eachdeveloping period. According to plenty of lotus-pattern photos on ancientporcelain which was unearthed and out-of-watered and some collected bystate-owned museum, the author try to comb the connection of theselotus-patterns, especially the difference of different historical period,explore evolution law of lotus-pattern decoration, hope to be contributedto dating study of lotus-pattern on porcelain.
