The Research On The Words In The Stele Inscription Of The Monks From Southern And Northern Dynasties To Tang Dynasty

Now,the scholars mainly utilize the best-known biography of the hierarchs, continuation of the biography of the hierarchs research and the biography of the hierarchs in the Song Dynasty to research the monks, but the research on the stele inscriptions of the monks is seldom. Comparing with the widespread literature, the stele inscriptions of the monks is not altered, authenticity of the corpuses is more better,and it is more reliable. The research on the stele inscriptions of the monks in the scholars is the research on the stories of the monks,and the research on the words and characters form the linguistics angle is few. The period from Southern and Northern Dynasties to Tang Dynasty is the flourishing time for Buddhism, the stele inscriptions of the monks in this period are very abundant, the content reflects the different aspect of the society life of the monks. So we collect the materials systematically from the historical perspective,and research the words and characters on the stele inscriptions of the monks form the linguistics angle to provide some reference datum for the research such as the research on the lexics, history of the characters and history of Buddhism.The thesis is divided into five chapers. The introduction is the first chapter, this chapter mainly discusses the concept, the origin of the materials, research actuality, research significance,research method and so on.The second chapter is the research on the words in the the stele inscriptions of the monks,we research the words such as the appellation words, site words, activity words, age words, functionary words, funeral words and so on.The third chapter is the research on the characters.we research the characters such as difficult character, assimilation character, promiscuous character, taboo character, new associative compound characters and so on.The forth chapter is the emendation.we get rid of the repetitive explanations, append some identifiable explanations and piece together some rubbings of the stele inscriptions of the monks.The last chapter is the correction and complementary proof of the explanations.We correct some errors of the explanations and supply some new identifiable explanations.
