Different types of visual information to the brain is processing specific region. However, the different types of visual input from the visual stimulus is how they are sorted and transported to a specific area? This ability to "automatic sorting" How is it formed? Early identification and processing of the categories of information about visual stimuli, cognitive neural mechanisms and a more systematic study. The question to be answered in this study are:the category feature information is processed? The processing mechanism is how to get? Can identify the wave of the EEG (RP) as an index to these two questions? The answers to these questions is of great significance for further understanding of the operating mechanism of the brain and learning mechanism. In this study, the use of ERP technology, through a series of studies to reveal the early processing of category information characteristics of the brain when to try to prove that the category of early processing is a human long-term learning to quickly identify a visual stimulus to the ability to adapt to the objective world.Experiment1try to explore the new school of stimulus category and familiar with the type of stimulus evoked the RP. Two types of written material as the target stimuli, respectively, for the character (familiar stimulus category) and Cambodian word (stimulus category) of the new school, the60target stimuli for the processing of "fragmentation" as a background stimulation, the use of RSS paradigm of random presented stimuli.16students from a university, according to the requirements to complete the detection tasks and recognition tasks, the stimulation of the record of two categories in the different task conditions induced RP. The results show that the Chinese characters to stimulate the reaction time is shorter than the response time of the Cambodian word recognition task two types of stimuli were significantly different. According to the analysis of EEG data, within the200-350ms, the two task conditions, the Cambodia word-induced RP amplitude less than the characters. Induced RP waves, Cambodia word RP latency is slightly longer than the incubation period of Chinese characters. Two tasks, Cambodia word-induced amplitude and latency differences between the characters-induced amplitude and latency between the two tasks fairly.Experiment2, using three types of stimuli (familiar with the characters and the new science of marine text and forests, text), using the four-stage test paradigm, the experiment on the basis of further investigation Acquisition Mechanism of experience category characteristics. The results show that the three languages in the classification task conditions, stimulate the correct rate differences in the stage2and stage4stage were not significant, difference in the reaction reached a significant level, the reaction of the ocean of words and forest words longer than the Chinese characters. It seems from the incubation period of three languages to stimulate the incubation period in the two test phases did not reach significant difference.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1) New learning stimuli and Chinese characters in different tasks can induce RP waves, the Chinese characters usually induced larger RP amplitude.2) Sorting of the language categories of feature processing ability is acquired through learning and experience.3) The early classification process can not achieve semantic activation, category feature machining at this stage of cognitive processes.4) After a long-term learning, the recognition of the new kind of stimulus category is likely to achieve the expert level as Chinese characters.
