| Objective:Through investigating their mental health, to learn about vocational college students’mental health status, analyze affecting factors of mental health, and make suitable suggestions on mental health so as to promote mental health education in vocational colleges.Object:with vocational college freshmen (2009) as object, including1572boy students and436girl students.Methods:We made the survey with SCL-90ã€UPIã€EPQ and college students’family investigation questionaire. With double positive reaction for SCL-90and UPI as case, after contrasting research on cases, we made differential analysis on personality and family environmental factors by means of χ2test, rank sum test, regression analysis and interaction analysis.Results:3.55%of the students have mental abnormality. After analyzing their personality and family environmental factors, we found that mental health (OR is0.595(0.418,0.848)) is affected by such factors as mental introversion (OR is0.536(0.329,0.874)), personality of introversion (OR is0.602(0.368,0.986)), love degree for majors (OR is1.714(1.048,2.802)), maternal educational level (OR is0.641(0.496,0.830)), parental education consensus (OR is1.592(1.195,2.122)) communication frequency with parents (OR is1.327(1.029,1.712)) and so on.Conclusion:Compared with students from other vocational colleges, the mental health status of vocational college students in Shanxi coal industry is relatively good, which maybe related to its geographic position and the situation of coal being pillar industry in our province. However, the vocational college students’mental health is not optimistic, which can’t be ignored in whole college education. In view of personality and family factors, we suggest that:to establish records for students with mental problems; to set up courses or lectures on mental health; to develop colorful culture activities on campus; to improve teachers’overall level; to give full play of students’role; to strengthen mental health knowledge propaganda; to cultivate students’interests; to strengthen the professional knowledge; to improve civil cultural level. |
