The political system of Jin Dynasty inherited the Northern Song Dynasty, and compatible ofthe systems of Tang and Liao. The Xizong emperor of Jin carried out a feudal reform, founded thesystem of three powers, with Chancery as the core, emerging prime minister and the consul asChief Executive. After the Emperor of Hailing’s one-power reform and the reform in Shizong andZhangzong periods, the prime minister and the consul of Chancery of Jin Dynasty becomesystematic, among which the Hans played an important role in the period. This dissertation studiesthe Hans in the prime ministers and the consuls of the Jin Dynasty.Under the internal and external political environment of the late Jin Dynasty, in order to winthe support of the people of the majority Han Chinese and to obtain high-quality personnel, theJurchen rulers appointed a large number of Han Chinese prime ministers and consuls. Themajority of Han prime ministers and consuls have high overall quality and played an importantrole in the late Jin Dynasty. The Hans had a lot in common. The main body of the dissertation willdiscuss the Hans in three chapters.Chapter One discusses the appointment of Hans in prime ministers and consuls in late JinDynasty. Since Xizong and Hailing dynasties reform, the Hans in the Chancery varied in differentperiods of Jin Dynasty, such as "Borrowing Talents" at the beginning, dominance of primeministers and consuls in Liao and Northern Song Dynasties, the cultural reign in the middle period,and the Hans in the late period. From the characteristics of appointment of prime ministers andconsuls can work out the features of promoted Hans by the late Jin rulers. The rulers took variousfactors into considerations and supported and limited the Hans spontaneously.Chapter Two deals with the Birthplace and career of the Hans. According to the analysis of thebirthplace of Hans, the distribution of Hans prime ministers and consuls can be drawn. As for thecareer, this chapter mainly analyzes the position of Hans through the inspection of going into theofficial system and conversion of post. It studies the features of the Hans group from the point ofPersonnel Administration.Chapter Three describes the qualities of the Hans. Special political environment at the end ofthe Jin Dynasty required the high literal quality of the Hans in the aspects of drafting thememorials and writing the inscriptions. Under the crisis political situation of late Jin Dynasty, theHans should have unusual political qualities in the good overall view, keen insight, andcompassionating the public distress. The character of the Hans is considered the model, justice andloyalty, which spread through the ages.In conclusion, under the special political conditions, the Hans in prime ministers and consulsin late Jin Dynasty full played the excellent qualities of their own, who has stabilized the politicalsituation of Jin and delayed the subjugation of the Dynasty.
