The thesis investigates a comparison analysis of conjectural modality adverbs in Minquan dialect through the synchronic and diachronic description according to Xing Fuyi’s two triangle theories of "Mandarin-Dialect-Ancient Chinese" and "Exterior form-Interior meaning-Pragmatic value". It puts emphasis on the two adverbs "guan" and "guan-xing", and inspects roughly other seven featured speculation adverbs in Minquan dialect, such as "dang-jin","ba-cheng","bao-xian", etc. The thesis is composed of five parts.Chapter One describes the geographic location of Minquan and the research status of its dialect, and points out the purpose and the significance of the thesis, the research object, research methods, corpus sources, and the style.Chapter Two describes "guan" in detail. First, it investigates from the syntactic position, syntactic collocation, the co-existence with other words, semantic analysis, sentence category selection and pragmatic functions. Then it describes the usage of "guan" in Modern Chinese.Chapter Three mainly analyzes "guan-xing". First of all, it divides "guan-xing" into "guan-xing1" and "guan-xing2". Then it respectively makes description and explanation from syntax, semantics and pragmatics. Finally it compares "guan-xing" with "huo-xu" and "nan-dao" in Mandarin in order to highlight its dialect characteristics.Chapter Four describes other conjectural modality adverbs in Minquan dialect. It roughly analyzes semantics and usages of other seven words including "dang-jin","ba-cheng","bao-xian","□[tsuη24]","zhun-tou","guan-mo" and "shuo-bu-liao".Chapter Five is the conclusion. It is the main content of the full text summarized, and points out the existing deficiency and the direction of future effects.
