Nowadays, learning Chinese is becoming more and more popular with thecomprehensive national strength of China being enhanced. People of other countries allover the world have begun or are planning to learn Chinese, hoping to gain moreopportunities in their careers. Therefore, it turns out to be very important to analyze thesimilarities and differences between Chinese and English numerals under thecircumstances, which is a subject of great value for improving the teaching quality andefficiency of Chinese numerals.At the beginning of the essay, Chinese and English numerals are analyzed andcontrasted in cardinal numerals, ordinal numerals, fractional numerals, decimal numerals,multiples, percentages and approximate numbers. Then on the basis of Error AnalysisTheory, the essay makes an analysis of the errors of the students whose mother languageare English, trying to find out the reasons for the errors. Finally, five teaching strategies ofnumerals in Chinese teaching as a foreign language are clarified in the relationshipbetween the study and teaching of Chinese numerals, teaching design, error analysis,language feel and the compiling of books as the end of the essay.
