The Research On The Gradual Integration Of The Western Culture In The Modern Architectural Decoration In Beijing And Tianjin Region

The decorative techniques of modern architecture in Beijing-Tianjin Region are versatile. Many buildings present the mixed Chinese and Western beauty which is different from other periods of the local building types in the Region. This paper use the traditional architectural decoration in Beijing-Tianjin Region and the western architectural decoration spread into China during modern period as the theoretical basis, dividing the architectural decorations with the combination of Chinese and western characteristics into three types. There are the Chinese-based increase in Western-style details, the Western-style mixed Chinese details and the new architectural decoration mixed Chinese and western architectural elements together. The third one is composed of the imitation of Western-style building, the traditional revival style architecture, and the new architecture of nationalism. With the combination of data and field survey, we can develop the methods and principles of the Chinese and western mixed in different architectural decoration types.Through the research of the developing modern architectural decoration in Beijing-Tianjin Region, we can find out that the modern architectural decoration in Beijing-Tianjin Region was the outside embodiment of Chinese and Western cultures colliding with each other and gradually merging process. Based on this, the localization tendency of the Beijing-Tianjin region of Western architectural decoration was affected by the external conditions which including the human and material basis, the geographical condition, the original city building basis. Also, the western political, religious, cultural thinking were influencing that too. The evolution of the traditional Chinese architectural decoration is due to the impact of the introduction of Western building and furnishing materials, transportation, environment and changes in material conditions. Besides, the’westernized Chinese style’thought, the will of good fortune and the rating awareness were important factors to the transformation of the traditional Chinese architectural decoration. At the same time, the western architectural education system produced impact to that.In addition, This paper do some researches on the developments of modern architectural decoration, in order to discuss the modern city images for not only the positive influence and legacy of problems, which included the weakening of the local characteristics of urban architecture and the aesthetic trend of Chinese and Western architectural. We should focus on the traditional Chinese aesthetic culture and the government should provide policy support measures to solve these problems.
