| In Chinese writing, the use of conjunctions, from discourse perspective, plays animportant role in textual cohesion. The conjunctions are much the same as the gluethat units all the words, sentences, paragraphs and chapters so as to make a fluentarticle. Foreign students, however, have much more difficulty and more restrainingfactors on the way to learn the conjunctions well, which explains why they mademany errors in Chinese writing. That’s why it means a lot to the study of secondlanguage acquisition to analyze these errors. This article, therefore, makes a list ofclassified examples about the errors and analyzes them on the basis of the study ofconjunctions. It also explains the reasons of errors. At the end of it, some teachingmeasures and a few suggestions towards the compile of the course of teachingChinese as a foreign language are mentioned.This essay has six parts.Part1is a foreword which gives an brief account of the purpose, the significance,the range of research, the content and the way of analyzing Thai students’ errors inusing the conjunction on writing. It also includes relative introductions of previousresearch and the innovation of this essay.Part2mainly makes the statistics and analysis to Chinese connected componenterrors corpus of Thai students. Corpus source is divided into natural language corpuswhich means the Chinese writing assignments of students at ordinary times andexperimental corpus which means the questionnaire survey on some conjunctions.Based on the statistics of natural language, we can know the use situation andfrequency of the conjunctions, and the error rate also can be analyzed which will helpus to roughly understand how about the students grasp the conjunctions. As theanalysis concluded from the natural language is inadequate. We can’t judge the wholesituation of the conjunctions appeared less in the case, since the smaller number, weare not sure how the users master but not use, and this is a disadvantage of the naturallanguage. To this, the author points to design a questionnaire, selecting theconjunctions appeared in a smaller number but high error rate in natural language andthe ones that students avoid using to further invest. Through the investigation and analysis of the experimental corpus, combined with the natural language analysis inthe above, we can know that the students have a lot of shortage to grasp theconjunctions, or learning a little, or knowing nothing,or avoiding to use, or goingwrong when use.Part3mainly analysis the errors type of the Chinese conjunction, combined withcase analysis. We find the example from student writing textual, and use the modernChinese grammar and discourse grammar knowledge to make the classified analysis,and then make a detailed analysis on the conjunction case according to the type oferrors, different from the previous chapter analyzed only from grammar Angle.Part4further explores the reason of the conjunction errors.It is complex, bothrelated to the complexity of the target language and related with learners themselves,textbooks and the learning process. Students learning a second language, will beaffected by the influence of the generalization within the language rules, and also beunder interlingua interference, all of which are focused on the discussion in thischapter.Part5mainly discusses the countermeasures to the conjunction errors, from thepoint of view of "teaching" and "learning".In addition, in the Chinese writingteaching position, the author give some suggestions on designing the textbook of anew generation.The last part is the conclusion of this paper, the brief summary and summarizedon the content, and it points out the defects of the paper, to look forward to be furtherperfect. We hope this paper can make a little help role in Chinese teaching for Thaistudents.Overall, this paper is mainly pointed on the errors case of the Chineseconjunction by Thai students, used with both statistical analysis and contrast analysis,both description and explanation. According to such a clue as statistical data, listingthe phenomenon, analyzing the phenomenon, analyzing course, and proposing thecountermeasure, we make a system research on the Chinese conjunction errorsappeared in students’ writing. |
