Studies On The Phonetic System Of Wuwei Dialect

Wuwei dialect belongs to the Hongchao branch within officiallanguage of Jianghuai.With the guide of the theories of the Chinese dialectology,phonology, phonetics and contrast linguistic, the author described theproperties of phonetic system of Wuwei dialect basing on the first-handmaterials. Besides, the author does the research by the method combiningdetermination and ration, description and explanation, diachronic andsynchronic. Then he exposes the regular properties behind the Wuwei onspecial chapters as so to have a more overall and deeper recognition toWuwei dialect.This paper is composed of six parts:In the first part, the author gives a brief introduction to thegeography and history of Wuwei, and he shows us the purpose and themeaning of his study. At the same part, the trains of though, the methodsof study, as well as the origins of the material are included.In the second part, the system of the initial of a syllable, the final ofa syllable, and tone in Wuwei dialect are described.From part three to part five, the author focuses on the properties ofthe phonetic system of Wuwei dialect from the initial and the final of asyllable, as well as tone separately.The last part shows some worth phonetic phenomenon in Wuweidialect. Then the author points out the emphasis of the study on theWuwei dialect in the future.
