Higashino Keigo is a bright star in the field of mystery novel in Japan. For many years, he has been discussing the problem of woman’s criminal and establishing the portrait of "evil woman". On the basis of some Higashino’s important novels, such as After school, The sacrifice of suspect X, The redemption of saintess, Walking in the white night and Illusory night, and combining the background of the living time as well as its development, we analyze the image of "evil woman" in these novels. The dissertation is comprised of the following parts:Firstly, in prologue, we briefly introduced the writer and the translation of his novels in China and current study of Chinese literature filed on him; In the first chapter, we looked back the development of the status of women in Japan from the end of the WWII to the prosperity of the economy of Japan. It is the social foundation of Higashino’s literature world and the necessary preparation of the grasp of the "evil woman" in Higashino’s novels. The second chapter and the third chapter are the main body of the dissertation. Through the comparison of these five novels, we find the development trail of the image of "evil woman", which is from doing evil passively to doing evil actively. The development trail is not only in the depth on the evilness, but also in the depth of resistance to the patriarchal society. These women had realized the danger of relying on men.In the fourth chapter, we summarize the traits of evil women base on the discussion and analyze above. In the perspective of the establishment of characters, these evil women are all flat characters, which is helpful to the observation of human beings. Meanwhile, evil women are full of characteristics of this time and are resisting to this patriarchal society. The establishment of the image of "evil woman" is not only a revelation of women’s evilness, but also a criticism and revelation of the suppression on women in this patriarchal society and a call of the equality of man and woman.
