Chinese Traditional Lotus Pattern Evolution And Application Research In Modern Design

Chinese traditional lotus pattern design, originated in the primitive society, began in Shang, changed the style in the southern and northern dynasties,filled in tang dynasty, and widely available in Ming and qing dynasties.There are different artistic features formed by influence of different politicical,economic and cultural in different times.Lotus pattern design inheritance development so far have various forms and rich cultural connotation.This paper takes the Chinese traditional lotus pattern as the research object.On basis of its evolution history,this paper focuses on its application in modern design.This not only is to in heritance and development of one of the Chinese traditional culture lotus pattern design,but also to in promotion the development of Chinese modern design.This paper first introduced the significance and purpose of the research, Lotus pattern design’s concept definition, The research status from domestic and abroad, the emphasis, methods and innovations on study of this paper, On that basis, The rheological situation of Chinese traditional lotus pattern design is divided into four periods:primitive period, Buddhism influence period, culture fusion period, wide application development period. With the social corpus thought in the historical changes as main research, Through to a large number of text information management and picture connection, the author works out every period of the rheological characteristics of lotus pattern design, This paper expounds the lotus pattern design’s artistic features under the influence of different humanistic ideasNext, The author analyses the traditional cultural connotation of Ephraim decorative pattern design and modelling:Lotus pattern design reflects the people of celebration of life, the religious of buddhist, the pursuit of moral character and the yearning for a better life.Based on the Modeling feature that have the Both natural form and artistic processing, we aslo analyzes the lotus of the traditional design of decorative pattern design in applicationThe artistic features of nationality and adaption helps lotus pattern realize its art value in economic, aesthetics and cultural fields. Hereinafter, the author carefully researched five aspects of "character","meaning","state","new materials, new technology" and "art style of fusion" and summarized the applications in modern design via graphic complementary method. Based on the above research as well as the background of lotus pattern evolution, the author did a lot of practical designs by applying the art features of "character" and "meaning", which helps author master the application of the research hereof.
