| Piano improvisation is a basic professional course in the department of music education in China’s institutions of higher learning and the training of rhythmic pattern will be one of the teaching difficulties and important contents in this course. We will make a special study to European and American popular dance music in20th century by taking the classification characteristic of rhythmic pattern to explore the way to which how they will be used in the teaching of piano improvisation.The thesis consists three parts:Part I will make a review to the evolution of European and American popular dance music in history and the classification characteristic of that; Part II will be the basic teaching ideas for the training of rhythmic pattern which will show the readers three problems which will be dealt with great deliberation and four key points during the course of training; Part III will be the analysis to some examples of the training of rhythmic pattern of European and American popular dance music in piano improvisation teaching and the training methods as well as the methods of variation training for both single and integrated rhythmic patterns will be specially introduced. In he final part of this thesis-the conclusion, the importance of the training of rhythmic pattern in the teaching of piano improvisation will be once more emphasized. The author hopes to open the door to the teaching of the training of rhythmic pattern by her study to bring more learners to success. |
