To the foreign students the phonic teaching has been the key point of teaching Chinese as a second language. The previous phonic research and error analysis to Philippine students of learning Chinese language have always focused on the ethnic Chinese community in the Philippines and also not distinguished the subjects in terms of age. As a consequence of the limitation and vulnerability, the exsisting researches provide an important reference for Chinese language teaching in the mainstream society of the Philippines. But the reference is still inadequate. In this paper, under the instruction of the Constrative Analysis Hypothesis, Error Analysis Hypothesis, Markedness and the Constrative Analysis Hypothesis, and psycholinguistics theory, the Filipino elementary students of mainstream society are taken as subjects, and given respective tests in terms of the single initial consonant, the single final as well as the syllable initial consonant and the finals. Through the detailed analysis to the acquired samples, the thesis discovers that the Phonic errors of Filipino students have some uique characteristics that are different from those of the students of any other countries and communities, and also finds out the main reasons for the distinctive errors. Based on the analysis, the paper then assesses the difficulty degree of Acquisition in initals and finals to the Filipino elementary students of mainstream society. In addition, the paper also proves the impressive influence of starting age on the phonetic acquisition performance of elementary students.Learning Chinese as a second language is not the sooner the better, but the preferable age in the elementary school should be between8to10years.It is hoped that the research findings will be of some help in predicting, avoiding and solving the phonetic errors of Filipino students, as well as making some contribution to the targeted teaching of Chinese initials and finals. Taking the age effect into account, we hope that a little constructive reference could be provided to the question as follwing "which grade is the most preferable grade offering Chinese courses in the elementary school of Filipino mainstream society?".
