As more and more migrant workers continuously move into the cities, the population of "left-behind children" is becoming larger and larger, mental health problem of left-behind children to a hot issue concerned by the whole society. Because of the particularity of the body and mind development of the junior high school left-behind students, who are in the most vulnerable group, the research on the behavioral problem of them has extremely important practical meaning.The research adopts the method of. questionnaire and Bronfenbrenner Ecology Systems Theory as theoretical foundation. This research explores left-behind children’s problem behavior and its relationship with personality and social support through investigating1200middle school students studying in Hunan Province of China. After dealing with the data by SPSS17.0statistical software, the results are as follows:(1)For the problem behaviors of left-behind children in the junior high school in rural areas of Hunan Province, maladaptive, aggressive behavior, nervousness and mood disorders are more prominent, delinquent behavior and withdrawal behavior is relatively less. There are significant main effects and interaction effects in gender grades and Left-behind type for problem behavior.(2)Problem behavior has significant negative correlation with the social support. Furthermore, it also has correlation with personality. The children have more behavioral problems with higher scores in psychoticism and Neuroticism, other children have less behavioral problems with higher scores in Extraversion and Lie. In addition, regression analysis showed that personality and social support can predict the problem behaviors of left-behind children.(3)Personality acts as a mediator of the relation between social support and problem behavior. That is social support affect problem behavior directly and indirectly through the mediating influence of personality.So, for such a special group, left-behind children should be given special attention by parents, teachers, family and the society. Problem behavior should be prevented and corrected in family and school education. We ought to be responsible for these children and let them feel warmer. We should foster their healthy personality and guide them towards a positive direction.
