Today, shaping high quality image of city is imminent, as the competition between cities hasreached a feverish state. As one principal mean shaping the civilized city image, public serviceadvertisement charged with the important mission of guiding mass value orientation, aestheticpursuit, promoting cultural quality, moral character.Using the public service advertisements to shape the image of city has the incomparableadvantage. Based on urban image of the mold as the breakthrough point, the article respectivelytells public service advertisements’ advantages and optimization function in shaping the cityimage. Further shows the origin and correlation between public service ads and city image. In thepresent situation, it remains many problems in the process of shaping the city image, such asindifferent public consciousness, the stereotype of theme, communication carrier not enoughinnovation, social participation insufficiency, the regulation is slack. In order to shape the cityimage better, we should put forward the corresponding countermeasures about public serviceadvertisement. Set up the image of the city by strengthening the public consciousness, optimizingthe art form, the sound urban public service advertisement operation mechanism, strength thelegislation law enforcement and social supervision, using proper media communication to attractmore audience. Thus, it will create a good environment from all angle to analyze how to appealfor public service ads to escort.This article analyzes the present situation and countermeasures of public serviceadvertisement. Thus, it will provide effective guide and standardize in the practice of city imageshape behavior. The local government makes full of the public service ads in the city imageconstruction, to achieve the civilized city image and public service ads business of a win-winsituation.
