Chopin is one of typical music language creators of romanticism and one of the most outstanding musicians in originality and creativity in musical history as well. His talent mainly embodies in four aspects:superior talent for melody, unique feeling for harmony, innovative form structure and brilliant piano skill. His acquisition upon harmony is indispensable to his ingenious use of harmony techniques, which is the basis of Chopin’s music sound control. His Mazurkas, colorful and rich in sound, are the experimental field of his harmony techniques. Through observation and research on his Mazurkas, we can get an extensive view of the composer’s exceptional ability in harmony techniques and sound control.This article consists of3chapters:the Medieval Modes used in Mazurka、the State of Harmonic Tension and Multi-dimensional methods of music organization. By means of analysis and research of these3aspects, the enduring charm of the harmony in Chopin’s Mazurka is doomed to reveal.This article consists of3chapters, with introduction before it and conclusion after.Introduction:The background for Chopin’s Mazurka; Domestic and foreign research briefing; Writing intensionChapter1:The application of modes used in Mazurkas such as Phrygian、D orian、Lydian、 Mixolydian、Locrian are analyzed and their roles are revealed.Chapter2:The roles of harmonic tension design in Mazurkas are illustrated from the prospective of harmonic tension with focusing on exploring the processing and layout of elements in Mazurkas such as the harmonic tensity、the driving force、the logical relationship、expectation and the unexpected.Chapter3:From multi-dimensional perspectives, the muhilayer composite status of Mazurkas are analyzed through4aspects:Bach’s influence、multi-faceted organization multi-faceted independent color、"three-dimensional elevated" sound principle, reflecting the muhilayer composite of Chopin’s music thinking principle.Conclusion:Author summarizes the whole article and describes the many roles of harmony technology embodied in Mazurka; the purpose of the writing of the author.
