Impressionist painting born in the late19th century in France is an important school in the history of Western painting art. The prelude to romanticism, the impact of Techniques for Photography as well as the foreign art, especially Japanese painting, has inspired Impressionist painting to embarked on a glorious road of innovation. After began to spread around the world, went to the two great powers county in East Asia-China and Japan. Japan introduced impressionistic style after the Meiji Restoration. Although experienced the struggle of traditional art and modern art, But it with the Japanese school kept Mutual compromised and fusion development, made Japanese quickly entered modern painting stage. But China learn form Japan to introduce impressionist painting, Although the beginning also popular, But it have a difficult development in the exclusion of realistic painting, Even to appearing blank in the past40years, after the era of reform and opening-up was recognized, The same time under the impact of fashion art it has more new connotations and forms.At the first part, this paper mainly interprets the background of the birth of Impressionism, the process and its impact on the world. The birth of Impressionism background process and its impact on the world to do a lot of exposition.The second part of this paper mainly discusses the two different state of development of Impressionist painting between the two countries.In the third part, by compared with the comparative analysis the reasons why of the two countries have two kinds of development, so as to reflect the two disadvantages in the development of arts in the two countries. Through the analysis of the causes the two development situation is different, is influenced by two different social environment influence, Japan the Meiji restoration success, and the failure of the wuxu reform movement after China is still in the feudal system state, so the two countries political environment is different, lead to China’s "impressionist" after the development. The two countries of different culture tradition, especially foreign culture differences with different character, also can cause the impressionist two different development road. Furthermore, compared with Japan, the real development of impressionist painting in China is only a very short time. Confronting with the complex and diverse painting schools, Chinese have no real understanding about it, thus we can draw inspiration from the part of the social environment and background of cultural. So that Sino-Japanese art can move ahead by reflecting the influence of impressionistic painting on the two countries. In this paper, by studying the development of impressionist painting in the two countries, not only allows us to understand the statement of Sino-Japanese art influenced by it, but also can we gain the meaningful enlightenment on the future development of Sino-Japanese art, especially on introducing and developing the new school in China.
