Essays and Criticism, as a famous masterpiece,has been given continuous criticisms by latergenerations.However,these criticisms hasn’t been given enough attention by the academiccommunity.Criticisms on Essays and Criticism,by Liu qiang gives an assisstance to make acomprehensive research on.the criticisms of Essays and Criticism.This paper, based on this book,makes a comprehensive research on the criticisms of Essays and Criticism. This paper is dividedinto five chapters.In chapter one,in the background of the general introduction of research onEssays and Criticism and its criticisms,the urgency of reserach on the criticisms of Essays andCriticism is discussed. In chapter two,the general introduction is made in the following threeaspects:the history,characteristics and perspectives from literature critics of criticisms on Essaysand Criticism. In chapter three,analysis is made on the major factors influencing the review onEssays and Criticism that includes three aspects：Firstly,the author makes a summary of thecriticisms from chinese literary criticism tradition;Secondly,the artistic achievements of Essaysand Criticism and the influence on criticisms from evaluation culture;Thirdly,the influence on ofEssays and Criticism from literature trends of Ming dynasty.In chapter four,severalrepresentative perspectives from many ramarkable literature critics are analyzed,including thosefrom liu Yingdeng,Liu Chengweng,Wang Shenmao,lizhi and ling Mengchu all of who havemade remarkable contribution to the on Essays and Criticism.In the last chapter,as aconclusion,the connotation of criticisms on Essays and Criticism are deeply explored,and theauthor makes a comprehensive analysis and set examples in several aspects: literaturetheory,aesthetics,thoughts and culture.We are enlightened through analysis on these.It isvaluable to develop and make research on the large number of criticisms on Chinese classicalnovels,and it is significant for the present cultural development to make research on them.
