The author choose "the figure painting of early Qing dynasty against the Ming-Qing dynasty transition"as the subject of the thesis.The purposes of this thesis are as blow:A. Teasing out the divide line of figure painter groups of early Qing dynasty, as "Bocheng style","Yangzhou painter","Qing count painter",analysising the distinctive feature of representative artists, dating from their teachers, inspecting their impact.B.Analysising the social historical reasons of the bloom of different figure painting style between the mid-seventeen century and the late of eighteen century.C.Evaluating the position of early Qing-dynasty figure painting in Chinese fine art history on the foundation of fully discussion.The research frame is created according to two main threads,one is through the severe changes in the fields of society and social thoughts in the transition of dynasty,analysising the reason of the changes of figure painting style, the other is the "draw from life,transformation in vision,Chinese style in Western skill"applied in staged changes of Qing dynasty.The thesis research measures:1.search and arrangement: the author had collected relevant literature and pictures and arrange them in proper ways.2.graphic presentation:construct the graph of the representative figure painters’Chronological Biography, art works Chronology(as in the appendix)and the chronicle of events and so on,3.the comparision and analysis of literature: analysis the particular events and art works on the base of a logical demonstration.4.conclude and demonstrate: give a creative conclusion according to the historical analysis.The conclusions of the thesis are as below. firstly, the figure painting in early Qing dynasty carried forward the tradition of figure paintings in late Ming dynasty. secondly, the figure painting style in early Qing dynasty was strongly affected by literati’s academic atmosphere, thirdly, the process of "Eastern Transition of Western Painting" carried on under a severe circumstance, last but not least, the ups and downs of figures painting in early Qing dynasty was closely relact to the politics.
