The general style in early Ming dynasty was similar to the style in Yuan dynasty. While in the mid-Ming dynasty the Chinese calligraphy was famous for WuMen School, and the present of the seal script and clerical script was nearly all of the Wen Zhengming’s style. Therefore, the seal script and clerical script in the whole Ming dynasty was paid no attention by people.The calligraphers of the seal script and clerical script were not as many as those of the Running Script in the Ming dynasty. What was the reason of the decadency of seal script and clerical script in the Ming dynasty? This paper mainly collects how many calligraphers were engaged in the seal script and clerical script in the Ming dynasty, and how the seal script and clerical script inherited and developed between them.
