The high-speed development of scientific technology has been not merely promotingsocial work and rapid life style, but imposing increasing heavy pressures on people’s lives.What’s more, individuals’ psychological and physical health is being impaired badly by stress.Because of the specificity of the military profession, soldiers are undertaking formidable andunpredicted missions. They have to meet with long-term intensive pressure combined withsignificant mission, hard environment, rigid training, enclosed management, continualemergencies, which makes them encounter more pressures than the common people.According to recent fruitful researches, hardiness is described as a kind of positivemental quality, which is absorbing researchers’ attention and indicating its unique influenceon the aspect of psychological health researching. For this reason, hardiness was included inthe research of soliders’ mental health, exploring the relationship between hardiness andpsychological health specificly. It can reduce the undesirable impact brought by stress, affordan evidence of keeping psychological and physical health, also provide a reference ofexcavating and cultivating the ability to resist stress and frustration. This study also includedthe variable of perceived social support,it was used to explore the relationship betweenhardiness and psychological health. Stress distress and job satisfaction were selected astwo indicators of psychological health. This study aimed at soldiers.1000particpants’datawere used to know the relationship among hardiness,perceived social support,stress distresand job satisfaction. The main findings were as follows:(1)Hardiness was significant negatively correlated with stress distres,hardiness was significantpositively correlated with job satisfaction,hardiness could significantly predict jobsatisfaction。(2)Perceived social support was significant negatively correlated with stress distres,perceivedsocial support was significant positively correlated with job satisfaction, perceived socialsupport could significantly predict stress distresand job satisfaction.(3)Hardiness was significant positively correlated with perceived social support,hardinesscould significantly predict perceived social support.(4)The mediator effect test showed that perceived social support was a mediator amonghardiness,stress distress and job satisfaction.
