The research subject of this paper is Paul sandby and Turner，trying to comparetwo people in painting ideas, techniques, color and other aspects of the evolution，solving some problems in watercolor landscape creation by its historical significance.The two masters not only embodies the techniques innovation of the watercolorpainting in Europe and styles change of traditional painting, but also embodies theidea of painting landscapes which is paying attention to the nature gradually andemphasizing the people-oriented, for a later development of a far-reaching impact.Itexplore every painter’s features of color and techniques in the development ofwatercolor painting early, by comparing of two people works and case analysis.Sundby and Turner’s watercolor landscapes were compared form three aspects of paintingidea, subject content and formal language in this article.
