| This paper discusses deeply the internal and external features and musical andliterary characteristics of Guci with the Guci of the “Song Book·Yuezhi†as a startingpoint. On the basis of the above analysis, a objective definition of the Guci was made,that is, Guci is the folk music produced during the Han Dynasty, and made intoinstrumental music during Han, Wei, and Jin Dynasty. The present paper summarizessystematically the inheritance and development of Guci from “The Book of Songs†and“The Book of Chuci†and attempts to explore the relationship between Guci and ZhenMing, Maxims, Proverbs in Han Dynasty and before. Thus conclusion can be reachedthat Guci, even the Han Yuefu, is developed on the basis of inheritance anddevelopment of “The Book of Songs†and “The Book of Chuci†and Zhen Ming,Maxims, Proverbs. The present paper tries to present the process of the manufacturingof Guci objectively and completely by giving a detailed description of origin, passing,collecting and coordination of Guci. In the meantime, the present paper distinguishespart of the Guci from “Collection of Yuefu poems†accompanied by a brief evidence;relist the Guci into “Collection of Yuefu poems†with detailed source and researchprocess of each Guci followed; comment on all the Guci recorded in “Collection ofYuefu poemsâ€, the results of which is listed in the appendix after the paper; testify threeinstrumental terms “Nongâ€,“Jie†and “Guchui†related to Guci, with a deep analysis oforigins, connotation and extension of the three terms; Besides, the paper explores therelationship between Guci and Originalci from the perspective of music and discussesthe existential meaning of Originalci, that is, originalci is the textual reference of Guci,musical reference of Yuzouci, musical and substantial reference of intended music andthe original reference of the Yuefu song with the same song title. In the end, the paperdiscusses brifely the relationship between Guci and music of Western, Beidi, NorthKorea three countries; rediscuss and recognize the sayings involved in the Guci research,such as “Four kinds music of Han Dynastyâ€,“Yesongâ€, and “Wusheng and Shiwuâ€. |
