| Wang Chuan-shan was a great thinker of the late Ming and early Qing dynasty. Heexplained his profound and unique understanding of Chuang-Tzu’s philosophicthinking in his book Annotation of Chuang-Tzu, which was a classic in the field ofthe study of Chuang-Tzu. Wang Chuan-shan upheld the Confucian position in theinterpretation of Chuang-Tzu, and at the same time, spoke highly of Chuang-Tzu’sphilosophy. He interpreted205points that concerned about "De" from Chuang-Tzubisectedly. On one hand, Wang Chuan-shan accepted Chuang-Tzu’s critique onConfucian moral concept——the presentation of righteousness and virtue, andperfected the Confucian notion of saint. On the other hand, Wang Chuan-shaninherited the frame of Chuang-Tzu’s moral outlook of "Nei Chong Wai Fu". Based onthe theory of "Hun Tian Lun" to "Yuan Qi Lun", he ascribed the "Chong Fu" ofmorality "De" to"Shen Qi Ning", and discovered the major idea of “Neng Yi XiangTianâ€. This article relies on the Annotation of Chuang-Tzu to expound the moral ideaof Wang Chuanshan. The revelation of Wang Chuanshan’s "DeLun"(moral idea) inhis Annotation of Chuang-Tzu could be separated into three parts.In the first part, the metaphysical basis of the Annotation of Chuang-Tzu would beexplored. Wang Chuanshan considered that Chuang-Tzu’s philosophy was originatedfrom the concept of "Hun Tian", thus his explaination was established on it. At thesame time, the "Yuan Qi Lun" of Chuanshan deemed that "Hun Tian Yi Qi" showedthe different levels of "Xing"(form) and "Shen"(spirit), which is the second basis ofhis theory. In the second part, through combing the "DeLun" of Confucianism andTaoism briefly, the author summarized the virtue of Chuanshan’s theory onmorality, which was "Qi Zhi He", and the dynamic development of the concept ofmorality by observing “Shen Ning†and “De Chongâ€, namely "Wai Fu Wu Bu Yi".The last part deals with the argument of Chuanshan’s cultivation method of "NingShen" and "Shi Tian", then expounds the autonomy of all things of the world of De.Chuanshan criticize the ideal social picture of the king whom governance thecountry.In short,combing the "Annotation of Zhuang-zi" can understand De of WangChuanshan,it not only helps to clarify Chuanshan interpreted De of Zhuang-zi, alsounderstood the path of Chuanshan’s Confucian position. |
