Nowadays, adapt problems of college students have become more and moreobvious. Due to some students can’t become a part of a new environment, or feelexcessive anxious about future, there’s too much suicide and self-injury accidents incolleges. Students of engineering major leave us an impression of introverted, manyof them have problems in interpersonal relationship, emotion, or adaption. For thisreason, we have to search for ways to improve the social adaptation status of collegestudents. Emotional Intelligence is a concept that has close contact with socialadaption, which can promote the improve processing of social adaption.Based on the analyzing of basic theories about Emotional Intelligence, SocialAdaptation, and the relationship between the two concepts, through the way ofinvestigation, we tried to understand the statement of engineering college students’Emotional Intelligence and Social Adaptation, this article analyses the relationship ofEmotional Intelligence and Social Adaption, and the prediction function of EmotionalIntelligence to Social Adaption, in order to provide new methods to improve the socialadaption statement of engineering majored students. This article confirmed that,engineering college students perform well in Emotional Intelligence, distinguishsignificantly in grade, sex, nationalities and only child or not. For the side of SocialAdaptation, just shows no significant distinguish in sex. By further analysis, we canfind the relationship of Emotional Intelligence and Social Adaptation, the total scoreof Emotional Intelligence, emotional evaluation of others, emotional adjustment ofoneself, emotional evaluation of oneself and emotional usage can forecast SocialAdaptation well, which partly confirmed the research hypothesis.
