Sihong is one of counties in the north of Jiangsu provinc,it locates the border zonebetween Jianghuai Mandarin and Zhongyuan mandarin, the characteristics of dialectsin Sihong county are so complicated that there are many dialects’ phenomenons thatdeserve to study.This paper mainly adopts the methodology of linguistic geographyand selects a few of voice entries and vocabulary entries to conduct an investigation for63investigation points in23towns of Sihong territory.According to the results of theinvestigation finishing to draw dialectological maps and then classify the dialects inthis county.Finally,we will discuss the reasons for the variation of SiHong dialectscombined with linguistic factors and nonlinguistic factors.We choose19voice entries in the study of linguistic geography about Sihongdialects. these entries that reflect the characteristics of the initial such as:thegeographical distribution of pronunciations about “祥-墙徐-渠”and “房-黄府-虎飞-灰”ect.; these entries that reflect the diffrences of the finals,such as: thegeographical distribution of pronunciations about“官-关换-患豌-弯贯-惯”and “哥-锅个-过贺-祸”ect.;about tones,we mainly research the distribution of Ru tone inSihong dialects.According to these above we draw13dialectological maps.inaddition,we choose20vocabulary entries for the research of linguistic geographyabout Sihong dialects,these vocabulary entries include meteorological nouns、thenames of animals and plants and the names of living goods. Accordingly we draw20dialectological maps and give the descriptions and explanations about them.We classify the32isoglosses that we get from the research,and then weconjecture two bundles of isoglosses. Through overlying the two bundles ofisoglosses,we can divide Sihong dialects into three parts:Sisu part、 Sinan part andHongze part.we explain the three parts in Sihong dialects combined with nonlinguisticfactors,such as history、economic advantages、educational media and geographicallandscape.
