From ancient times, men dominate the society in all aspects, such as in politics, economy, and so on. But with the awakening of female consciousness, women increasingly ask for the same rights as men, no longer willing to be subordinate to men. With the development of feminist movement, many feminist writers emerged. They delivered their feminist thoughts through their literary works. The awakening of women has changed the thinking of women and the attitudes of men towards women. The purpose of this paper is to study the influences the occurrence and development of feminist movement have on female literature, and tries to give modern women some inspirations for life through the comparison of Scarlett and Bai Liusu, the two heroines in Gone with the Wind and Love in a Fallen City. Although the two female writers were born and grew up in different countries and cultures, we can find feminist spirit in both of their works. The method used in the study is known as Material-gathered analysis:collecting information on the Internet and search related books in the library; Review analysis: reading a lot of comments on Gone with the Wind and Love in a Fallen City, and making an analysis; Comparative Analysis:comparing both heroines in the two works in detail. The studies show that although the two heroines are described in different countries and entirely different cultural backgrounds, there are lots of similarities between them, and studying them together is still only lightly touched at home and abroad. The expected research result is to give modern women some inspirations for life through the comparison of Scarlett and Bai Liusu. First, women should have rebellious spirit; second, women must pursue economic independence; last but not least, women should learn to balance self-consciousness and household management.
