At present,‘Returnees’ in China has been an expanding group. In face of ‘reverseculture shock’, could they adapt to cultural communication successfully? This studywill investigate the returnee students, and under the theoretical framework ofacculturation model of John Berry and five factors of Kim Youngyun. To combinewith using SPSS to analyse the data collected, the aims are to find the concretemanifestations of cultural re-adaptation for returnees, and examine the attitudes ofreturnees to cultural re-adaptation. According to the statistics, to analyse thephenomena of cultural re-adaptation, and to find out that what kinds of factors affectto return to overcome the difficulties of cultural re-adaptation. The main findings ofthis research include:(1) It is one third of returnees participants encounter the ‘reverse culture shock’;(2) The interpersonal communication is the important factor to affect culturalre-adaptation successfully;(3) The attitude of returnees could affect them to overcome the difficulties ofcultural re-adaptation;(4) Especially, one important finding is gender and degree of education correlatewith cultural re-adaptation.The researcher finds out that in order to overcome the ‘reverse culture shock’ notonly the personal factor is important, but also needs social support, the researcherhopes that this dissertation could help the returnee students to better overcome thedifficulties in cultural reentry and call on the society to pay attention to this issue.
