| Everyone procrastinates sometimes, but but some are so chronically affected byprocrastination that it stops them fulfilling their potentials. Academic procrastinationis very common behavior among the junior high school students.It is considered thatacademic procrastination could prevent the students from finishing the task of study intime hence we need to study students’procrastination in junior high school.In this article,we selected600students randomly who are from three differentschools in Zibo,High School Affiliated from Zibo Normal College,ExperimentalHigh School in Zibo,No.2Middle School in Zichuan.Through the survey,westudied the situation of their procrastination,and it’s relationship with self concept.Spss16.0is used to analyze the survey data of statistic. The main conclusions are asfollows:1. Junior high school students’ academic delay overall is in good condition. Fromthe specific point of view, the delay in summarizing is on the highest level.2. There is a significant gender difference between the boys and girls in the totalacademic procrastination. Overall, the boys’delaying level is significantly higher thanthe girls’. The differences in execution and remedy are also significant.3. There is a significant grade differene in procrastination.The level ofprocrastination among students in Grade1is the highest on delay in planning,executing and remedying.While the level of procrastination among the students inGrade2scored the lowest.4. Junior high school students’ academic self-concept is not in good condition.However,the academic experience scores lowest, namely junior high school studentacademic experience is at the highest level. 5. There was no significant difference among the gender, grade, andresidence.The experience dimension exists obvious differences in different grades,which scores the highest in first grade of junior high school.6. The relationship of academic self concep and academic procrastination presenta significant negative correlation. Academic self conception on AcademicProcrastination can be used to predict. |
