The countryside theme is the traditional topic in Russian literature, LasPuting is skillful in describing the daily life of countryside, paying moreattention to ancient Russian customs, the morals features as well as thenational characteristics, and is ascribed to “the countryside prose”. He isalways devoting himself to the countryside and its land, having a sense ofstrong moral and a deep consciousness of distress and homeland. In his work,the homeland consciousness is not only presented the dependence on thenative soil but also presented their recall and pursuit of traditional culture andancient civilization and moral. The countryside theme of Las Puting’s works,which is divided into four chapters. Chapter one introduces the writer’shomeland consciousness, which means our roots of life, breeding andfostering us. We should call for a new spirit in our memory to never forgetour roots. Chapter two deals with as the increasing development of modernscience and economy, the modern civilization in the city seriously affects andattacks the initial features of the countryside. Everything of the Old Russiancountryside has been seriously attacked and many young people have beentired of the monotonous countryside life, abandoning their native land forcity, which also means the loss of their inherent good traditional moralexcellence and the initial role marked by homeland, which is so called “the role of chaff”. Many writers believe if the humans lose their own roots,then there would be much loss in their spirit, which will gradually lead to anintense shock in spirit. Chapter three focuses on “the Las Puting’s leadingcharacters” with traditional morals and local breath through their ecologyview, and their innermost emotion world to enrich the author’s images.Meanwhile, the author devotes his all energies to his characters, highlyadvocating those people who are always working in the countryside for a longlife, full of deep emotion with their homeland, and deeply treasure theirtraditional customs. Chapter four introduces the farmer–like’s mind isgradually vanishing under the background of development of science andtechnology, through the analysis of the novel Fire, the humans try to seek aspirit return. Therefore, the former chapter is to memorize the author’shomeland from the standpoint of farmer,expressing his sincere love. Thelatter three chapters are to criticize the farmers who abandon their roots:valuable land and good traditions, which make them lost in themselves and nodirection from the standpoint of farmers long living in the city. In the sense, itis fully expressed: the truth, value even happiness of life really lie in the landnursing people from generation to generation. Therefore, returning to natureand returning to roots are humans’ only choice, which is also the key of their.
