The Development Of Macao Music After Reunified With China

Chinese culture has almost5000years history. As a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China, due to historical reason, Macao has formed its own particular culture, which is deeply effected by Western and Chinese traditional cultures, respectively. On December20,1999, Macao cast off Portuguese colonial rule and reunified with China. Since then, there have been many visit and communications exchange for culture between Macao and the motherland. As the developments of the level of visit and communications, by utilizing the resource of cluture and education of the motherland, much progress has been achieved for Macao’s culture. This paper aims at investigating on the education, the creation, the performance and the research of music of Macao after Macao’s return to the motherland. Through our investigations and analysis, it has shown that Macao has built its own music style and system.
