In the spring and Autumn period time, big powers contending forhegemony had become the main theme of the times, along with somesmall and medium-sized States changing their subordinate bigcountry according to " constantly changing international situation ".Among them, the most prominent was the diplomatic relationsbetween Jin and Song Dynasties. Jin developed from the originalsmall country " Fangbaili "to the dominated Central Plains nation inthree hundred years, and with the improvement of their social status,the small and medium-sized States which depended on them weremore and more, at the same time, these small and medium-sizedstates for the moment seeked peace, with the big country to protectthem, so they selected the appropriate country to depend on,and thesong is one of them. The difference was that the relationship betweensong and Jin was particularly close. The song has the richly endowedadvantage of the geographical location." The song can suppress theeastern Princes ", so the song was called a hotly spot which wascontested by military. Thus, the Jin tried to be close to the song. The Zheng, Chu was the "enemies" of the song and so the song submit thejin. Song followed Jin many times involving in the war, alliance etc.. Inshort, each taked what he needed. The two countries contacted witheach other closely..The previous study on the diplomatic relations between Jin andpowers relatively was many, but the study on the relationship of Jinand song relatively was few, this paper aims to study the relationshipbetween Jin and song from the following several aspects;Introduction: it expounds the research significance, the presentsituation of the study and the blind spots and shortcomings in thepresent study, and puts forward the starting point of this paper andthe problems to be solved.The first part: expounds the world environment of the Jin andsong, mainly from the angles of position researching the bilateralrelations with neighboring countries, shows that the situation of thetwo surroundingis is very serious, Jin need this small countries whichits location is especially important, and the song also need to beattached to the Jin to improve their surrounding environment andprotect itself.The second part: this part is divided into three stages, startingassociation--deep association--tend to loose. The implications andeffects of evolution diplomatic relations between the two countrieswere described through these three parts, and this part explainssome changes of diplomatic relations, such as the battle of Chengpu,Jin of Cao song, Song Suijin being saved etc. through some historicalfactsThe third part: mainly discusses the characteristics and modes of Jin, song diplomatic relations between the two countries. Therelationship between Jin and small, the most typical was thesong(especially compared with Zheng Guo), the two countriesmaintaining diplomatic relations was almost in the whole spring andAutumn period, so there was the stability and persistence betweentheir relationship. In addition, the main way of the diplomaticrelations between the two countries was the war and alliance, and thewar included two aspects, in addition to the song following Jin inforeign wars, and also included a war between jin and song. AlthoughJin and song had maintained diplomatic relations, and their weresome wars between the two countries, in spite of not many.The fourth part: the impact of diplomatic relations between thetwo countries. Roughly from two aspects: the first is the influence of"the world ", the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jinand Song Dynasties had a big influence in the small and medium-sizedStates, and the society was divided into two group,chu and zheng,and then some small countries constantly changed their dependingpower; the second is effect of the diplomatic relations between thetwo countries of Jin and song.Conclusion: pointed out that Jin and song can maintain lastingfriendly diplomatic relations which was rare in that time betweenStates and mentioned that the song brought great influence on theirown with its not changing spirit. At the same time it is necessary toresearch on the spring and Autumn period of small and medium-sizedcountries.The spring and Autumn period was an important period in thehistory of ancient china. During this period, in addition to this country Chu, Jin,Qi, Qin which we often mentioned, there were some whichwe didn’t pay much attention to. More research was about greatpowers, and ignored the study of small, but the study of small couldhelp people have a more complete understanding of the spring andAutumn period, and the study of big powers contending for hegemonyprocess inevitably involved small, so small countries also playedimportant role in the whole history of the spring and Autumn period.This paper attempts to study the diplomatic relations of Jin and SongDynasties from the change of their relationship. The relationsbetween the two countries focusing on Jin and small countriescaused the academic circles pay much attention to the relationsbetween large and small countries.
